The Upstate
Technology advisory for the Greenville–Spartanburg corridor
Veralta is based in Simpsonville, SC. We work with growing companies across the Upstate — on site, in person, usually within a day.
There is a practical reason to hire someone local for this work rather than a firm three time zones away. The problems worth solving are generally visible on the plant floor, in the warehouse, or in a room with the people doing the work. They are rarely visible on a video call, and they are never visible in a status report.
Who we work with here
The Upstate's actual economy
The Upstate is a manufacturing and logistics region with a growing professional services layer on top of it. That shapes the work. Most of what we do here involves operational systems that people depend on daily, not greenfield software projects.
Manufacturing
Plants running production systems that have been extended one workaround at a time, and now resist every change.
Distribution and logistics
Operations where the warehouse system, the transport system, and the finance system each hold a different version of the truth.
Professional services
Firms that have grown past the tools they started with and are now paying for it in administration rather than in software.
Growing companies generally
Any business where technology decisions have started to outrun the time the leadership team has to think about them.
What local means
Three things a local advisor can do
- Be there the same weekWhen a project is going sideways, the difference between a site visit this week and a call next month is usually the difference between recovering it and writing it off.
- See the work, not the reportAn hour walking a process beats a day of documentation about it. That hour is only available to someone who can drive to you.
- Stay accountable locallyWe live and work in the same market you do. That is a stronger guarantee of straight dealing than any contract term.
Services in the Upstate
What we are usually called in for
Fractional CTO
Ongoing technology leadership — strategy, vendors, team, and budget — without the full-time seat.
Project rescue
A project that has gone quiet, gone over, or gone wrong — assessed honestly, then either recovered or stopped.
Project management
Senior delivery leadership for the work that matters too much to leave to whoever has spare capacity.
AI advisory
Where AI genuinely helps your operation — and where it does not. Grounded in your data and your people.
Business process engineering
Design the process the business actually needs — for work that has outgrown how it was first set up.
Business process improvement
Take a process that broadly works and make it cost less, break less, and depend on fewer heroics.

Common questions
Working with us locally
Are you actually based in the Upstate?
Yes. Veralta is based in Simpsonville, SC, and the Greenville–Spartanburg corridor is our home market. We are not a national firm with a local phone number.
Which areas do you cover in person?
Greenville, Spartanburg, Simpsonville, Greer, Anderson, Easley, Mauldin, and the surrounding Upstate. If you are within a comfortable drive, we will come to you rather than ask you to come to us.
Do you work outside South Carolina?
We take engagements across the Southeast and further where the work suits a remote cadence. The in-person commitment is specific to the Upstate, because that is where we can actually keep it.
Do you work with local IT providers rather than replacing them?
Usually, yes. There are good managed service providers in this market. Keeping systems running and deciding what to build, buy, or retire are different jobs, and a strong provider makes our work easier rather than redundant.
How quickly can you get on site?
For clients in the Upstate, generally within a day. That is most of the reason to hire someone local.
